Heathcote registrations of interest
The City of Melville is seeking Registrations of Interest (ROI) from a range of diverse organisations and individuals to help us create a ‘must visit destination’ at the unique Heathcote site, located on the Swan River foreshore at Applecross.
The cliff-top site and its adjacent riverside Lower Lands are a well- known and iconic Perth location that has the opportunity to become one of the most vibrant and active destinations on the Swan River.
Heathcote Cultural Precinct’s primary goal is to secure long-term, short-term and temporary leases for spaces across the site that will deliver cultural and commercial activations to attract visitors from across the southern metropolitan region.
This is a rare opportunity capitalise on the prime location of the growing precinct, with proximity to the Perth CBD, South Perth, Applecross and Murdoch regional hubs.
More than 2000 sqm of space in a variety of buildings on the site is now available for lease and use; along with the potential to manage, lease and promote various indoor and outdoor event spaces. All ideas, big and small, to activate both the buildings and spaces will be considered.
Heathcote Cultural Precinct is controlled by the City of Melville, which wants to work with a wide range of organisations to activate the entire site for many years to come. Tens of thousands of people already visit the site each year to use playgrounds, see exhibitions or visit the existing restaurant.
Registrations of Interest are encouraged from emerging or experienced organisations, businesses and individuals capable of meeting and exceeding the objectives for the site. The City of Melville is seeking multiple uses within or connected to arts, culture, wellness, innovation, events and community activation. Successful applicants must want to be part of, and make a real contribution to, a growing inclusive, creative community over many years.
The leasing project is part of the wider Place Vision 2025, which focuses on bringing the integrated diversity of Heathcote to life and providing a unique experience to Heathcote visitors and operators.
Melville City Mayor, Russell Aubrey, is eager to see the site come to life with a broad range of site users to implement the vision for the future.
“We want Heathcote to become one of Perth’s leading and most dynamic, interconnected spaces for artists, wellness studios, co-working and collaborative spaces, permanent and temporary food opportunities, and unique events of varying sizes throughout the year. ” he said.
“We’re open to registrations of interest from any individuals, retailers or organisations who align with our vision. Our ideal outcome is the creation of a space in which visitors and site users can all meander freely through the buildings and spaces; sharing and exchanging experiences, and enjoying this unique precinct,” he added.
The variety of buildings and spaces on the site meant that people who are interested in locating at Heathcote are strongly encouraged to take a tour of the site as part of the Registration of Interest process. Tours are being conducted during the week commencing:
Friday 18 Aug - 10am & 2pm
Tuesday 22 Aug - 10am & 2pm
Thursday 24 Aug - 10am & 2pm
