Environmental Friends Groups

Find out how to get involved with your local environmental friends group. Volunteer by joining a group or participating in planting days and environmental events.

Melville has hundreds of volunteers from the local area who help on a regular basis to undertake work in the City's lovely bushland, wetland and river foreshore reserves. These groups work in conjunction with the City of Melville to undertake a variety of activities, including collecting seed for revegetation, planting activities in Winter and removing weeds from certain areas. these local people have a great deal of enthusiasm and experience in working in your local bush or foreshore, and are always looking for extra hands. More information is available in the Friends Group Manual.

Most groups have a fun, social aspect to them and involve getting school groups and others involved in helping to preserve the environment.

For more information you can contact the City of Melville's Environmental Community Liaison Officer on 9364 0695 or the Group Coordinators of the specific group you are interested in.
