The City of Melville conducts citizenship ceremonies and all new citizens are officiated by His Worship the Mayor, Russell Aubrey.

Outline of the Process

After applying for Australian Citizenship approved candidates will receive notification from the Department of Immigration & Citizenship.

Invitations for ceremonies will be sent to approved candidates approximately six weeks prior to the ceremony providing all details for the event.

All new citizens are officiated by His Worship the Mayor, Russell Aubrey. Approved candidates will make either an Oath Pledge or an Affirmation Pledge for Citizenship depending on the choice made when completing the application for Citizenship and the receive their Certificate of Citizenship. This Certificate will become your legal proof of Australian citizenship.

You will also be able to complete an electoral enrolment form which registers you on the electoral roll and allows you to vote.

Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and Australia Day Awards

The annual Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony held at John Creaney Park in Bull Creek, with a barbeque breakfast by the Lions Club of Bull Creek.
