Heathcote Cultural Precinct

Heathcote Cultural Precinct, situated on the site of the former Heathcote Mental Reception Home in Applecross is a heritage listed public open space and home to a contemporary Art Gallery and Artists Studios.

It features a museum, contemporary gallery, artist studios, various community facilities as well as a world class restaurant, and one of the most popular award-winning playgrounds in the metropolitan area.

What's Your Vision?

The City of Melville are working towards long term planning for Heathcote, and the Heathcote Vision and Place Plan document has now been released. This Vision Plan describes the potential place making strategies and vision for the future activation of Heathcote Cultural Precinct.

Heathcote Museum and Gallery

Toy Library and Playgroup

Site Facilities

The site is home to an award winning children's adventure playground, barbeque facilities and public toilets (wheelchair accessible). Extensive parking is available and includes Acrod bays, delivery and bus zones.

Forward Notice: Temporary closure of playground and viewing platforms June to September 2017
Maintenance and renewal works of the playground facilities and lookout platforms will commence in June 2017 for an estimated duration of three months.
Access to these areas will be not permitted during the works period.
