Councillor Patricia Phelan

Palmyra Melville Willagee Ward

I moved to Willagee in 1992 and after representing Willagee residents on a Homeswest redevelopment committee and the Town Planning Scheme Review, was elected to council from 1994 to 2009. In the meantime, I travelled overseas again and in between work and play, undertook study and achieved my Diploma in Gemmology to satisfy a life-long interest in rocks minerals and gemstones.

Professional Experience

I have a background in retail management, promotion and personnel training.  Over recent years  I have worked in State and Federal government as an electorate officer and office manager and 2013-14, assisted the curator at the Gemmological Assoc to identify and catalogue their collection for teaching. In addition to Council activities and responsibilities, I pursue my interest in writing (currently ghost-writing a memoir for a Korean War Vet) and what-ever catches my curiosity or fascination at the time.

Keeping up with my friends, eternal student and researcher, writing, rocks and minerals, metaphysics, politics and government, keeping up with my garden and staying healthy.
